DreamLayers Privacy Policy
DreamLayers SAS ("DreamLayers", "we", "us", or "our") provides a dream journaling and audio story service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile app, websites, and related services.
Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, username, and authentication identifiers.
- User content: dream entries, transcriptions, audio recordings, generated stories, and optional profile images you choose to provide.
- Purchase information: subscription status, product identifiers, and purchase-validation records needed to provide paid features.
- Usage and device information: app interactions, feature usage, crash or diagnostic information, and notification-related metadata used to operate and improve the service.
How We Use Information
- Provide authentication, journaling, sync, notifications, and customer support.
- Transcribe audio, generate AI-powered analysis, and create narrated stories when you request those features.
- Validate subscriptions and consumable purchases.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve the product experience.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
Service Providers
We use service providers to operate DreamLayers, including Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and server functions; Deepgram for speech-to-text; OpenAI for AI analysis and generation; ElevenLabs for text-to-speech; and PostHog for product analytics. These providers process information on our behalf only as needed to provide their services to us.
Data Shared for AI Features
DreamLayers asks for your permission in the app before sending personal dream content to third-party AI service providers. If you do not allow that sharing, the related AI feature will not start.
- Voice dream capture: when you choose to process a recording, the audio recording is sent to Deepgram for speech-to-text transcription. The resulting transcript, selected language, capture mode, and generated summary/title context may then be sent to OpenAI for dream analysis and title generation.
- Text dream analysis: when you submit a typed dream for AI analysis, the typed dream text, selected language, capture mode, and generated summary/title context are sent to OpenAI.
- Guided dream conversation: when you use the guided AI mode, your guided chat messages, captured dream details, selected language, and final dream text are sent to OpenAI.
- Bedtime stories: when you create a personalized story, selected dream summaries, moods, themes, story length, selected language, and sleep goal are sent to OpenAI. The generated story text and selected voice settings are sent to ElevenLabs to create narrated audio.
These AI requests are routed through DreamLayers secure server functions. We require our third-party service providers to protect personal data with the same or equivalent level of protection described in this Privacy Policy and to process it only to provide their services to DreamLayers, maintain security, troubleshoot errors, and comply with legal obligations.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us.
Your Choices
- You can choose what dream content to submit and whether to use voice recording features.
- You can manage notification permissions through your device settings.
- You can manage subscriptions through your App Store account.
- Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal data.
Children
DreamLayers is not directed to children under 13. The service is intended for users who meet the minimum age requirements described in our Terms.
International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
